On behalf of the European and International Lactation Consultant Association we
would like to invite you to our second joint conference to be held in Basle (Switzerland)
from 21.-23. October 2010
This Congress will interest all lactation consultant IBCLCs, nurses, midwives, doctors
and anybodyelse who works with and supports mothers and their babies. In Basle, one
of the most beautiful cities of Switzerland, next to the border of Germany and France,
you will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, expand your knowledge, and
collect CERPS together with people from all over the world under the motto „Protection
and Support of Breastfeeding“.

VELB, as the European Association, addresses you bilingually in the Homepage so that you can find all information in English and in German. There is also information on the French and Italian continuing education offerings of the VELB European Institute for Breastfeeding and Lactation in these languages.

The European Lactation Consultant Association (VELB) announces a VELB-Logo-Competition 2010. The theme is: „ A network for and of European lactation consultants”.

THE AIM
The aim of the contest is to better present VELB and its work. With this new visual and design the promotion of breastfeeding in Europe will become more visible.

VELB turned 20! Starting with four countries VELB developed to an organization that in the mean time unites 17 national organizations.

Publications can be found on the page titled Worth knowing.
Among these are the new ILCA guidelines “Clinical Guidelines for the Establishment of Exclusive Breastfeeding” published in 2005 and by VELB in German translation in 2006.

You will find information on continuing education under Training/Continuing Education through the VELB European Institute for Breastfeeding and Lactation..

It is now possible to become an ILCA member through VELB membership. For the time being this membership means receipt of all emails and of the eGlobe but NO access to Member-Login on the ILCA Homepage. However there will be further discussions on this.
